MODULAR HOMES

Benefits of Modular Homes

One of the biggest trends right now in real estate and architecture is the emergence of modular homes, or prefab homes. Short for prefabricated homes, these structures are made in smaller pieces offsite, and are later assembled at their final destination. Usually, there is very little distinction between a traditionally built home and a prefabricated home. These buildings are often made out of the highest quality materials and are available in the latest home trends. Plus, the majority of modular homes can still be completely customized. This means that although you are purchasing a home produced in a warehouse, away from the final location, you will still be able to put your own personal touches into your new home.

There are several benefits associated with prefab homes. First, these homes are incredibly eco friendly. Because everything is constructed off site in a factory or warehouse, there is minimal impact to the environment or landscape of the final home. This means the carbon footprint remains small because workers and heavy equipment are not used day in and day out during construction. Further, modular homes are more sustainable because there is rarely any excess material waste. Material packaging is drastically reduced since all materials are shipped in bulk to the warehouse site. Each home is carefully calculated, planned, and assembled, with just the right amount of material used for each home. These homes are often better built and more durable than traditional homes, since their offsite construction allows factory workers to fully focus on the details and construction process. More so, due to their ability to be built to specifications offsite, many prefab homes are cheaper than traditional construction.
